According to the “Americans Aspirations Index”, a national survey fielded in the opening days of the Biden administration aimed at surfacing the priorities of Americans, Trump’s voters dubbed “severely restricts immigration” the third most important personally held national aspiration. Meanwhile, Biden’s voters placed it within their bottom ten. Such a deep division may contribute to Americans misjudging where the majority of the country privately stands on the issue.

Switzerland and the U.S. Unite to Support Sri Lankan Migrant Workers.

In a joint bid to support Sri Lankan migrant workers, the Swiss and U.S. governments launched the Safe and Resilient Migrant Workers project in Sri Lanka. It aims to provide aspiring economic migrants with guidance and skills development for Sri Lankan migrant workers as well as ensuring their safety and reintegrating them into the local market. The project will be fully integrated with the U.S. Agency for International Development, which supports the youth employment and entrepreneurship project called YouLead.
